“If you cannot do great things, do small things in a great way.” — Napoleon Hill As you’ve gone through life, you’ve no doubt felt some level of pressure to be extraordinary. Growing up, we dream of being extraordinary, believing that it’s the pathway to honor, status, and standing out from the anonymity of the crowd.
This was such an incredible read. I haven't heard this perspective on enjoying the ordinary without hearing "You rest so God will do the rest" and your article actually addressed our part and not caving into complacency.
I also think you hit the nail on the head with the two groups. The first group who thinks the "young are too ambitious" which has the truth of "zeal for your house has consumed me." (Psalm 69:9/John 2:17) People used to mock David in his zeal for the Lord and the disciples were reminded of that scripture when Jesus came to overturn the money changers in the house of God. The exact mocking tone that sometimes people have with those who are ambitious for God.
And the complacency is real - just like the believers of Laodicea. Rich in resources - financially, spiritually, and even in people but grown lukewarm and comfortable.
Thank you sharing & bless you for your writing and insights from God!
